Terms of Service

Last updated: 8 July 2026 · DNSCove is a service of VectraSEO LLC

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and VectraSEO LLC, which operates the DNSCove service ("DNSCove", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using dnscove.com, the console, or the API, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you are using DNSCove for an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization.

2. The service

DNSCove provides managed authoritative DNS: you create zones and records through our console or API, and our nameservers answer DNS queries for domains you delegate to us. Features, plans, and limits are described on our site and may change as the service evolves. DNSCove does not register domain names for you; you remain responsible for maintaining your domain registrations, nameserver delegation, and DNS configuration choices.

3. Accounts & security

  • You must provide an accurate email address and keep your account secure. Sign-in uses magic links and passkeys (WebAuthn) rather than passwords.
  • API tokens are credentials. You are responsible for activity under your account and tokens; keep them secret and rotate or revoke them if compromised.
  • You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of majority where required) to use DNSCove.
  • You may not use DNSCove if you are barred from using the service under applicable sanctions, export-control, or other laws.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use DNSCove to:

  • Violate any law or infringe the rights of others, or host DNS for domains used for phishing, malware distribution, or other unlawful or abusive activity.
  • Facilitate DNS-based attacks, including amplification/reflection abuse, or attempt to disrupt or overload the service or its infrastructure.
  • Serve DNS for a domain you do not own or control. Zones must pass ownership verification before they are served; we may refuse or suspend zones that fail verification.
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the service without authorization, or circumvent plan limits, authentication, or rate limits.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer non-public parts of the service, interfere with other users, or use automated access in a way that degrades the service.
  • Resell or provide the service to third parties except as expressly permitted by your plan.

We may investigate suspected violations and suspend or remove offending zones or accounts.

5. Your zones & content

You retain ownership of the domains, zones, and records you manage with DNSCove. You grant us the limited rights needed to host, publish, and serve that data to operate the service — including publishing records to the public DNS as you direct. You are responsible for the lawfulness and accuracy of your DNS configuration.

6. Plans, billing & renewals

  • Plans. DNSCove offers a free plan and paid subscription plans priced by the number of zones you host. Plan limits and prices are shown on our pricing page.
  • Payment. Paid plans are billed through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us and Stripe to charge your payment method for the applicable fees and taxes for the plan and billing period you select.
  • Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual) at the then-current price until you cancel. We will charge your payment method on each renewal.
  • Taxes. Fees are exclusive of taxes; you are responsible for applicable sales or use taxes, which may be added at checkout.
  • No free trials unless stated. DNSCove does not offer a paid-plan free trial unless the checkout flow or pricing page expressly says so.
  • Price changes. We may change plan prices or features. We will give you reasonable advance notice of material paid-plan price changes, and changes take effect on your next renewal. Continued use after a change means you accept it.

7. Cancellation & refunds

You can cancel any time from the billing portal in your account or by contacting support@dnscove.com. Cancellation stops future renewals; your paid plan remains active until the end of the period you have already paid for, after which your account moves to the free plan. Except where required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable and we do not provide prorated refunds for partial periods. If you exceed your plan's zone limit, we will keep serving your existing zones and ask you to upgrade or reduce usage rather than cutting off resolution; we do not add per-zone overage charges.

8. Service levels

The current release of DNSCove is provided without a service-level agreement (SLA). It serves from two authoritative nameservers and does not yet support DNSSEC; these are described on our site and roadmap. We work to keep the service reliable, but we do not guarantee any specific uptime or availability in this release.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT DNS RESOLUTION WILL ALWAYS BE AVAILABLE. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DNSCOVE AND VECTRASEO LLC WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE IN ANY 12-MONTH PERIOD WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE FEES YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THAT PERIOD OR USD 50. THESE LIMITS DO NOT APPLY TO LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE LIMITED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW.

11. Indemnification

You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless VectraSEO LLC and its affiliates from claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the service, your DNS configuration or content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law, except to the extent caused by our own breach or negligence.

12. Suspension & termination

You may stop using the service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, fail to pay, or use the service in a way that risks harm to others or to the network, and we may remove zones that violate the acceptable-use terms. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you where practical. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including billing owed, disclaimers, liability limits, and indemnity) will survive.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of DNSCove after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

14. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The parties submit to the jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Pennsylvania for any dispute not otherwise resolved, except that either party may seek injunctive relief to protect its rights.

15. Miscellaneous

Neither party is responsible for delay or failure to perform caused by events beyond its reasonable control. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, corporate reorganization, or sale of assets. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any plan-specific terms shown at checkout, are the entire agreement between you and VectraSEO LLC for DNSCove.
